This won't take long

So not much news going around in the comic book movies.....

What did everyone think of that Captain America: The First Avenger trailer? Very appetizing if you ask me. We finnaly got a glimpse of Cap throwing and catching his shield. But also it looks like the cast had to go back to one of sets for a re-shoot, or something more...maybe some addition for a glimpse at the Avengers? WHO KNOWS! Thor got some more movie posters this past week. They are pretty awesome especially if you put them all together side by side. The posters give you a look at everyone's role in the movie. IMDb has a summarized for you each of the characters. I scattered them all over the post.

Superman got some more casting today...Amy Adams (The Fighter) has been casted as Lois Lane.  If you want to know what Zack Snyder is made of as a director of a superhero type movie be sure to check out his latest film Sucker Punch. Filming for Superman: Man of Steel begins this summer....in Chicago. The Dark Knight Rises also had some more interesting news, it looks like Joseph Gordon-Levit will be playing Alberto Falcone and Juno Temple will be playing a street smart Gotham girl....whatever that means.

A lot of new trailers came out this week for movies i didn't even knew were being filmed. Be sure to chem them all out; Larry Crowne, Henry's Crime, The Three Musketeers, Super, Daydream Nation, and  Friends With Benefits. Be sure to check them all out, Tom Hanks, Keanu Reeves, Kat Dennings, Josh Lucas, Rainn Wilson, Ellen Page, Justin Timberlake, and Mila Kunas star in these movies!

Lot's of new things...

Marvel
First things first, Thor had some very appetizing posters released this week, see them at the bottom of this post. The Wolverine got some other news this week, the director Darren Aronofsky has quit due to being out of the country for to long. There is an Ant Man movie coming soon to be directed by Edgar Wright, but there will be no appearance of Ant Man in The Avengers movie. Daredevil will be rebooted by director David Slade, but Ben Affleck will not star in it, but there are rumors that Bradley Cooper or Garret Hedlund will play him.

Now most important! Captain America: The First Avenger got a "First look" on ET tonight with some exclusive footage. There were a lot of revealing scenes here including a look at Cap throwing his shield. if you didn't get a chance I'm sure that you can find it somewhere on the inter-web.

I got a chance to catch a showing of Limitless. It was pretty good movie all around, I give it a 7.5/10 chopstix.

That's gonna do it for me today I'll try and post some more news this week possibly Friday night if i get a chance to catch some flicks.

So there's been a lot of news since i last posted....

First things first just want to give a prayer to all those in Japan suffering from just about every major event that could happen there.

With that said...lets pick up on some movies shall we?

Saw Battle: Los Angeles, fairly decent film, better than expected (7.2/10 Chopstix). It will touch your heart believe it or not. It has a fantastic story in my perspective. A new trailer for Super 8 was in the film, but as i guessed it still hasn't showed much information except that dogs are disappearing!!!! (can you say The Happening with the bees?) A teaser trailer for Conan the Barbarian was also shown. I honestly had no idea that they were coming out with a movie, but it looks like one of those movies where a WWE wrestler is the star of it (pretty sure you all know what i mean.)
I also saw  The Adjustment Bureau just last week. Very, very, very good film (8.9/10 Chopstix). It stars Matt Damon and Emily Blunt....all i can tell you is that is is about "Free Will"

Now there was some relief for the disappointment in finding out there will be no Captain America: The First Avenger trailer premiering till Thor's anticipating May 6th release. Marvel released a new photo of Captain America post-fight. It looks as if he is captured (someone save him, or at least give him a water! Geez) Also there has been an addition to the wonderful cast, Derek Luke (Friday Night Lights) will be playing Gabe Jones of the Howling Commandos.



Be sure to check out Academy Award winning "The Fighter" which came out on BluRay and DVD today. Releasing in theaters this week is Paul (Expecting 7/10 Chopstix), Limitless (Expecting 7.5 Chopstix, mainly for the storyline), and The Lincoln Lawyer (Expecting 5-8 Chostix, can't get a real feel for it).

More to Marvel about,,,and then some.

Iron Man 3 has officially found it's new director since Jon Favreau left the franchise late last year. Many people have been speculating that Favreau was forced to leave because Marvel did not like the direction he took Iron Man in. Nevertheless we can expect another movie from the Armored Avenger. Favreau has another movie set to hit theaters this summer Cowboys & Aliens, which sounds like a comedy but is far from it. Favreau's reason for leaving the franchise is that he got an offer from Disney to direct Magic Kingdom. The new director for Iron Man 3 is Shane Black (Lethal Weapon). This is the second movie that Downey and Black will be teaming up with (Kiss Kiss Bang Bang ). Black stated that will be not only be the director but will also be the writer and is going to take into a Tom Clancy like direction...I honestly don't know what that means. It does make people think of the Mandarin when he says he wants to take in a more realistic direction as well.

Jr. Downey is quite the busy man  now-a-days. It is rumored he is to make a cameo appearance in one of the Marvel films releasing this summer, along with his other franchise Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows to be released this winter. Downey is set to start filming for The Avengers movie next month, in an interview he stated "its not going to be hard to prepare for the Avengers. Just have to grow a mustache and maybe do something with the hair a little" (classic Downey).

Captain America is apparently not going to have a trailer appearence in this week's release Battle: Los Angeles we are now looking at a trailer to be released at the premier of Thor (which i will be at...yes every single one!). There are also more rumors going around that the "after credits" are not going to have an Avengers connection to it but The Wolverine or The Amazing Spider-Man since the trailer for The Avengers is going to be shown in either Thor or Cap. The Wolverine is not going to be a sequel to X-Men Origins: Wolverine (why that didn't keep going with more characters is beyond me), but a standalone film. Darren Aronofsky (Black Swan) is to be the director for it. The Amazing Spider-Man is being directed by Marc Webb (punn intended much?) and will star Andrew Garfield (The Social Network) as Peter Parker. This Spider-Man is a reboot to the trilogy and apparently Fanboys are upset with the direction Webb took with the web shooters having them be mechanized rather than biological. The villain will be Dr. Connors/The Lizard played by Rhys Ifans (The Replacements).

Moving away from Marvel, the Super Bowl spot for the upcoming movie Super 8 (still don't know what its about than just aliens maybe E.T. reboot?) has got JJ Abrams fans all stirred up. There are rumors that a longer trailer will be shown in Battle: Los Angeles this weekend. Super 8 is set to release June 10, 2011. Battle: Los Angeles releases this Friday so make sure you check it out since this is to be a many part type movie; rumors have been going around that there may be a New York, Chicago, and more sequel/prequel. Pulp Fiction made its way into the news this week. The TV series Community is to do an episode on Pulp Fiction, images can be seen here: Community Does Pulp Fiction

What's going on in the DC Universe????

Let's start off with Superman: Man of Steel, which is to be directed by Zach Snyder (300 and Watchmen). This is to be a reboot to Superman Returns (which is somewhat ridiculous but whatever). The supposed villain is to be General Zod (as seen in TV series Smallville Season 9). The cast includes Kevin Costner as Jonathan Kent, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, Viggo Mortensen (Lord of the Rings) as Zod, and Henry Cavill as non other than Superman. The infamous Christopher Nolan will a producer in this reboot. It's interesting cause C. Nolan's brother, Jonathan, was one of the frontrunners to direct this movie in early November last year. I find it very odd that suddenly "big named actors and actresses" are beginning to play parts in comic book movies again, i.e. Tommy Lee Jones in Captain America: The First Avenger, and Anthony Hopkins in Thor.

Moving on, just over a week ago The Dark Knight Rises plot was leaked which most likely infuriated Christopher Nolan as he was keeping it such a secret to the public. The plot goes somewhat like; Batman and Catwoman (Hathaway) are to team up to face the League of Shadows (Batman Begins) and Bane (Hardy).  It is interesting since Nolan has requited a lot of his Inception cast to be playing in his final Batman movie. The additional cast includes Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle aka Catwoman, Tom Hardy (Inception) as Bane, and Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Marion Cotillard  (both Inception) are to have unknown roles. There has be rumors saying that Gordon-Levitt could be the new joker, but those i believe are not true since in an interview after Inception's release Nolan stated that he will NOT be bringing The Joker back after the tragic Death of Heath Ledger. It is upsetting to know that this will be the final Batman film by Nolan (which I believe to be true), but hopefully that means that the rumors are true on his sequel or prequel to Inception. The film is to be released July 2012.

New Thor Posters! New Cap Trailer to premier this month? And Avengers news!

Marvel released 2 new Thor posters this weekend. Even though this movie doesn't come out for 2 more months (from today) it has been getting a lot of hype since it's first trailer release back in December. Then its "second" trailer during the super bowl which also included our first look at Captain America: The First Avenger. 

Captain America is rumored to have a trailer being put up sometime this week. It was rumored that it would be put into the trailers shown in The Adjustment Bureau which was released this Friday. We are now looking at a trailer to be released maybe in Friday's release of Battle: Los Angeles. Nonetheless, I'm sure we will not be disappointed with the trailer as it was leaked we are to see "some" of Modern Cap.

Lastly, it was announced that The Avengers is to begin filming next month. Mark Ruffalo was interviewed at the Academy Awards and stated that he has been "bulking up." Also the Mighty Avengers may have their villain, or should i say villains,  as it was rumored that the Skrulls will be summoned by "Loki" (Thor enemy) via Cosmic Cube (as seen in Captain America). We are to see a teaser trailer for the Avengers in either Captain America or Thor.
